AED Inspections
EFAP Australia carries out an AED Inspection Service. Although many AEDs have a built-in testing mechanism or self-test, they still require a visual inspection per their operation manuals. An AED is an essential piece of equipment used in a cardiac arrest. An inspection service ensures that your AED is in good working order and ready to respond in an emergency.
Common faults picked up during an inspection are:
- Battery out of date
- AED pads are out of date
- Battery not inserted
- PADs not connected
- AED showing a mechanical error sign
- Consumables missing or out of date
- Unable to locate the AED – no signage
- Low confidence levels in using an AED
